The Philadelphia Eagles have a strong reputation for philanthropy, making them one of the most community-focused teams in the NFL. Here are some of the key ways they have demonstrated their commitment to giving back:

1. Eagles Charitable Foundation (ECF)

  • The Eagles Charitable Foundation is the cornerstone of the team’s philanthropic efforts. It focuses on providing access to youth health services and education in underserved communities. One of their flagship programs, Eagles Eye Mobile, provides free eye exams and glasses to thousands of children each year in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

2. Community Engagement Initiatives

  • The Eagles regularly organize events and programs to support local communities. They are involved in initiatives like:
    • Play 60: Promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles for children.
    • Eagles Autism Foundation: Supporting innovative research and care for autism through grants and events like the annual Eagles Autism Challenge.
    • Huddle Up for Autism: Partnering with organizations like the Center for Autism Research at CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) to provide resources for families affected by autism.

3. Environmental Sustainability

  • The Eagles are also known for their commitment to the environment. They were the first NFL team to operate on 100% clean energy through their Go Green initiative. They’ve implemented sustainable practices at Lincoln Financial Field, including solar panels, wind turbines, and robust recycling programs.

4. Support for Social Justice

  • The Eagles have been vocal and active in supporting social justice initiatives. Players and staff have worked together to address systemic inequities, with efforts ranging from education programs to donations for criminal justice reform.

5. Player Involvement

  • Eagles players are highly engaged in philanthropy. Many of them run their own charitable foundations and participate in community outreach programs. Here are some examples of the huge impact Eagles players have made through their foundations:
    • Jason Kelce’s (Be)Philly Foundation is fighting for a brighter future for the next generation of Philadelphians by supporting educational and economic initiatives for youth.
    • Brandon Graham’s work with youth through summer camps, a backpack drive, and more with his organization Team Graham 55
    • Jalen Hurts started the Jalen Hurts Foundation with a focus on strengthening local communities by servicing and advancing the youth. He recently donated $200,000 to the school district of Philadelphia to install 300 air conditioning units in classrooms. Way to keep it cool, Jalen!
    • And you can’t forget about Saquon! For Saquon Barkley, he is leaving a legacy on and off the field. He started The Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation. It was founded to support the goals of our youth to excel in academia and athletics. They provide scholarships, educational assistance, and athletics guidance. We’re sure there is no obstacle this foundation can’t hurdle (“MVP, MVP, MVP!”).

6.  Food Drives

  • Don’t forget the fans. These folks make a big impact, too. Last week, Philabudance allowed Eagles fans to face off with Washington off the field. The non-profit went toe-to-toe with the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington DC to see which pantry could raise more. The generosity helped provide over 28,000 meals to those in need. In the end the Capital Area Food Bank squeaked out a win. Congrats on the major victory off the field!

The Eagles have made philanthropy a core part of their identity, leveraging their platform to uplift communities, promote health and education, and tackle pressing social issues. Their multifaceted approach to giving ensures a lasting impact in Philadelphia and beyond.

Go birds!

Five Reasons Why Planned Giving Is Essential For Every NonProfit

Planned Giving is a fundraising method that offers a higher return on investment than other types of fundraising. This is typically because planned gifts (such as bequests or beneficiary designations) are often large, but cost relatively little to secure. You can start as simple as a page about planned giving on your website and start promoting this impactful way to give.

Understanding QCD’s in 2025

For retirees with a healthy nest egg in tax-deferred accounts, hitting age 73 comes with a new milestone: Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). While it’s a sign of financial success, those RMDs can come with a not-so-fun side effect—higher taxes! The bigger your account balance, the larger your RMD, which could nudge you into a higher tax bracket.
